Here is a Basiji chant as related to me by an Swedish PHD student doing his thesis here on Basiji men. He claims this is their classic chant, others seemed to confirm this. I never saw anyone chanting any part of this however (nor did I hardly see any of the Basiji). September 2004 note: one visitor who self-identified as having been a member of the revolution said that this representation of a basiji chant differs after the first couple of lines from anything he had known.
The Basiji are the young zealous revolutionary guard of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran and played a key part in fighting off the invasion of Iraq into Iran during the 1980s. They existed as a separate entity until the 1990s when they were incorporated into the regular revolutionary guard.
This chant is interesting because it seems to cover almost all of the most internationally controversial basic principles of the post 1979 revolution government in Iran.
