An Iranian's Advice to Americans

A rich Iranian man who fled Iran after there was a revolution first to Germany, then America told me: ‘ the American system is not humanistic.

The industry there uses you, making you move here and there, you submit totally to it and postpone your life until you are old – the and throughout you reap the lonely rewards of having sacrificed all your deeper family and personal relationships for money and career.

Over extended, you are a machine part for an American industry – a worker bee and voracious consumer. I saw no difference between Americans and Russians under Communism’ he said ‘Americans just have more toys. Americans have cars and Russians don’t.’

‘Look’ he said ‘I love the American people, they are wonderful but they can’t help each other to be happy because they are all victims of the system.’ My advice to Americans – ‘take time, enjoy life.’
