Truly shape and fashion these;
Leave no yawning gaps between;
Think not, because no man sees,
Such things will remain unseen.
In the elder days of Art,
Builders wrought with greatest care
Each minute and unseen part;
For the Gods see everywhere.

Let Jason Allen Carpentry be your partner as you restore your classic Portland, Oregon home to its original lustre.
Portland is a unique city in many ways and not least among these is its fine collection of beautiful historical homes from the early 20th and late 19th centuries.
Some of these homes have been passed down from one family to another, meticulously maintained through the generations in a manner that respects the original design & aesthetic of the home while harmoniously introducing the architecture of our modern lifestyle into their floorplans.
Many others, however, have suffered through times of uncertain fortune and definite bad taste. Witness the livingrooms and diningrooms across this city whose windows, doors and archways have had their lintels removed, their parting bead cut as paneling installers of the early sixties made their jobs easy. Witness houses who have had their elegant craftsman trim themes disappeared in a whirlwind of dropped ceilings, vinyl siding, and sanitary molding. Witness victorians clad in asbestos, their windows shortened, turned exterior moldings removed, porches replaced by rotting squares of structural grade fir, pt 4x4s and plywood decking.
The depth of these crimes against our architectural inheritance is too great to catalog here but we can help.
During our free estimate visit we will uncover what had happened to your homes over the years, peel back the layers with our trained diagnostic eye, and propose to you solutions which are both economically sound and aesthetically true to your home's original charm.
Much of our business focuses on complete tear-offs classic PDX porches where we salvage the most prominent architectural elements and rebuild with a design which will resonate with the overall charm of the home, be exceptionally sturdy, comply with Portland building codes and weather the years of moldy wet winters and baking summers with grace.
We invite you to peruse these pages, see photos of completed projects and learn about what we do and the extra ordinary value that represents to our clients.
